GREGORY S. SHOTZBERGER, Ph.D.

Dr. Shotzberger has been our Vice President, Business Development since November 2005.  Prior to joining Icagen, Dr. Shotzberger served as a corporate development consultant to the biotechnology industry.  From 2001 to 2004, Dr. Shotzberger worked for King Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he was Senior VP of Business Development.  From 1997 to 2001, Dr. Shotzberger served as Director of Licensing and Business Development at AstraZeneca and its predecessor  companies, Astra Pharmaceuticals and Astra Merck.  Dr. Shotzberger began his career as a discovery scientist and project manager with the Dupont Company.  Dr. Shotzberger earned a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, an MBA from the University of Delaware, and a B.S. in microbiology from The Pennsylvania State University.  Dr. Shotzberger previously served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Medical Service Corps, U.S. Army Reserve, and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. Dr. Shotzberger is a member of the Licensing Executives Society, the Association of University Technology Managers, the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, and the New York Academy of Sciences.
