Icagen’s facility in Durham, North Carolina currently has a contract position available for a talented scientist to join our Biology team. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in identifying novel drug candidates and advancing drug discovery projects. The successful candidate will work as part of our team to develop, validate and perform ion channel assays, identify small molecule modulators and advance collaborator and client programs. The primary job responsibility will be execution of electrophysiological assays using both conventional patch clamp techniques and planar patch clamp platforms. Experience with electrophysiological techniques, especially conventional patch-clamp and high throughput plate-based planar patch clamp platforms is required.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills are essential. Educational requirements include a MS degree in Biology or related field with a minimum of 0-2 years of related work experience in a laboratory environment or a BA/BS degree in Biology or related field with a minimum of two years of significant laboratory experience.
