Title: Senior Bioanalytical Chemist

Icagen is currently has an opening for a chemist who would be responsible for

coordinating and providing bioanalytical support to drug discovery and development

teams. Key responsibilities include developing and performing LC/MS/MS based

assays for the quantitation of small molecules from biological matrices. Additional

responsibilities include routine structure identification of both in vitro and in vivo

metabolite profiling screens for supporting medicinal chemistry efforts. Previous

experience in the areas of mass spectrometry, chromatography, state-of-the-art

separation techniques, robotics and sample preparation techniques is essential. A

successful candidate must posses the ability and desire to maintain awareness of the

scientific literature and advancements in the analytical sciences; a demonstrated

record of using bioanalytical knowledge to develop new techniques and strategies to

isolate and detect small molecules from biological matrices; the ability to work with

laboratory information management systems, databases, web-based applications &

other information technology tools; the ability to partner with IT group to support

software / hardware applications; and a basic understanding of PK principles.  The

successful candidate should possess a PhD in Bioanalytical Chemistry or related

discipline with a minimum of 3 yrs of related work experience in a research and/or

development environment or a MS degree with a minimum of 10 yrs of related work

experience in a research and/or development environment or a BA/BS degree in

Bioanalytical Chemistry or related field with a minimum of 15 years of related work

experience in a research and/or development environment.

Title: Pharmaceutical Patent Attorney

Icagen has a unique opportunity for an attorney who will work with our scientific staff to

identify new inventions and with external patent attorneys to file, prosecute and

manage Icagen’s portfolio of intellectual property.  He or she will also support

corporate legal matters including dealing with basic contracts used in pharmaceutical

industry, including but not limited to, confidentiality agreements, material transfer

agreements, clinical site contracts, vendor contracts and collaboration agreements.

 Qualified candidates must possess a law degree from an accredited institution and at

least five to ten years of experience in patent law.  The candidate should also have

post graduate experience in either a pharmaceutical company or law firm focused on

filing and prosecuting patent covering pharmaceutical compounds, especially involving

composition of matter for small molecule compounds.  Preference will be given to

those who have undergraduate degrees in the sciences, pharmacy or medicine. 

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively are essential

skills for the successful applicant.
